Huacaya fibers have an average staple length of 6.5 inches and plenty of crimp to make spinning a breeze. Baby Alpaca refers the finest parts of the Huacaya fleece, not the age of the animal. Only fibers with a thickness of approximately 20 microns are classified as Baby Alpaca, so you can be sure of ultimate softness to the touch. Naturally beneficial for you and the environment! Alpaca farming is inherently less impactful on the environment than sheep or goat farming due in part to their padded feet which do little damage to the terrain they inhabit.
